The manager was very helpful. One of the room was locked around 1am and we were panicked but someone from the team came and sort it out.

Very busy on sunny days, but don't try and get an evening meal on Sunday as everywhere bar the Chineese and Indian were closed. A lot of places were not open during the week either.. Very dated and a lot of empty shops.

I felt the area looked a bit run down.
I felt the area looked a bit run down. No good shops, several boarded up delapitated buildings. Even the sky nets and surrounding kids stuff looked old and tired!
Quite a few nice looking pubs / restaraunts to choose from. We had a meal at The Reef which most people enjoyed.
We didnt feel the need to go anywhere else as we were only there for a weekend and had amazing weather. The house and the beach were all we wanted.

We went in February and a lot of the Island's attractions weren't open yet but we found everyone really friendly and it was quite nice to be given the time of day which we may not have got in peak season. Can't say anything about the beach or the front as it was raining too hard and consistently to explore but we went to the museum in Ryde and to Dimbola house, both of which were worthwhile and it was nice driving around on nearly empty roads.

Love it, been many many times, well over 20. shame to see so many places shutting down but that is sign of the times. Some wonderful shops. A beautiful beach. The best place we ate was in Shanklin though along the seafront. Had the boat wheel think it was called steamer or something it was awesome. Not happy you have to pay for parking at night-time now. Very friendly people everywhere you go. Isle of wight is Awesome. The ferry cost a fortune for such a short trip across, makes you want to travel in the middle of the night . We stayed at the Broadway Inn this time was very impressed. Really close to the beach. Love the tesco in Ryde. Found an amazing carvery on the journey there. Its a pub near the premier convenience store, the purple one. Forgotten its name. Anyway cant wait for next year.

Sandown has its own pier with traditional seaside activities...
Sandown has its own pier with traditional seaside activities and the beach. We particularly enjoyed Dinosaur Isle to see fossils and how life has been pre-human on the island. The National Poo Museum is small but good fun and interesting for all the ages.
Brading is a 5-10mins bus ride away to see the well preserved Roman Villa and there is a vinyard not far from their either :D Walking to Shanklin along the coast path is lovely for a really traditional British Seaside scene. We'd advise against walking on to Ventnor as the path is rugged and there is very little to see, with cliff path diversions it took us 4hrs and we defo bused it back.
We enjoyed food at The Reef, Flanigan's and Kate's Cafe.
We moved to Cowes for visiting Carisbrooke Castle and Osbourne House as they would each be about 1.5hrs from Sandown by bus, but if you had a car I'd stay based here.

Quiet town with good transport links to Ryde and Newport via bus or train. There is a caravan site near the Tesco supermarket. The beach is un spoilt. Parking is on the beach front at a good rate. Lots of benches to sit down and enjoy the cliffside views.
It's a great hotel full of character and a lot of unique features and great potential. Yes it's looking a little bit tired in places but the industry has taken a right battering of late and it can be difficult sinking lots of money into a property that wont recoup that in a reasonable amount of time. I travel to Sandown all the time and didn't realise this place existed to be honest! Staff were really nice, bar prices fair, evening entertainment entertaining! For the price I paid it was perfect.
Sara and Kevin were so welcoming. From the word go we felt comfortable and felt we were with family. Sara and Kevin (also Paul) are such warm, fun and generous people . Nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts were amazing. Best I've ever had (and I've stayed in hotels all over the world!)
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this guest house. The whole stay was a happy and comfortable one. So glad we found this gem.
Nice location, a small drive to sandown for shops, pubs & restaurants.
or a 20 min walk, via a nice coastal path close by with stunning views.
The chalet had ample cooking utensils & crookery. & We probably only used £1 a day electric on the meter.
2 adults one kid, enough room for the 3 of us, we went out in the days & beech walks in the evening lovely! & The chalet was perfect for us all in all.
Greeted by a friendly couple, relaxed atmosphere, good breakfast and nice rooms. Local advice given, good bar. Having stayed at 10+ guest houses and B&B's on the isle of wight we would now make this our first choice. Home now and missing the place - close to Sandown so dinners and attractions within walking distance and ample parking. A++++++
The great location, in the middle of everything we wanted, and opposite the beach. Don't go expecting a posh modern hotel. the hotels very dated, but in a good oldskool Isle Of Wight holiday way, just how it should be. Hotel was clean, beds were comfortable. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.
We had a lovely cozy room. There were everything that we needed: a kettle, cups, tea, towels, shampoo, etc. They also had a microwave and a fridge in the dining area. The hosts were super friendly. We recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to have a nice vacation in Sandown.
The property was well equiped, clean and spacious. It is in an excellent location - close to the shops, beach and very near to several bus routes but at the same time it was quite quiet. The host made it clear they were available if we ran in to any difficulties.
Owner Lee greeted us in a friendly manner and was informative.
The property was in a good location. Not direct on the seafront but literally minutes away. A bus stop was less than a couple of minutes walk too which was handy as we didn't take the car.
Room was very clean. Good choice of breakfast, cooked to order. Plenty of off road parking. Very friendly owners, always willing to give you helpful advice. Ten minute walk to town and seafront. If visiting Sandown again would rebook at this hotel.
Staff lovely, friendly and welcoming, Room not massive and areas of it needed a bit of attention, but comfy and clean, slept very well. Breakfast lovely, although at times under staffed. Hotel ideally positioned for Sandown, the beach and shops.
The location is great. The hotel looks very modern and cute. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was great. Everything looked very clean. The room was spacious and they even had netflix available. I would stay again.
Everything, we go to the Sandringham Hotel each year and have never had any complaints, everything is as expected, rooms clean and very comfortable, staff polite and helpful and food very good. No complaints to make, more than happy.
The breakfasts were superb. The hotel was situated really close to all the amenities but in a nice quiet road too
The hosts were brilliant, the hotel was the best one we’ve stayed in so far in sandown & we’ve stayed in 6
Thank you to Abbie the manager of the hotel who couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating to us. They were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning to this hotel
Excellent hotel, couldnt want for more. very friendly staff who even opened the doors for us. They kept to every promise they made to me. Thank you for making our holiday special.
The location was amazing just a 30 second walk to the sandy beach in Sandown and near all shops and resturants. Jay who ran the hotel was extremely helpful too.
